Cluster Ballooning is inspirational, colorful, and it brings genuine adventure, even in our modern times. When we lift off from an airfield, I see amazement in children's eyes. The miracle of this sport is that I see the same amazement in the eyes of their parents. This sport reawakens a dream so many of us once had, but has grown quiet.

With our flights, we have had tremendous success in the quiet skies. We were the first to fly a cluster balloon system overnight-- launching in the late afternoon, watching the sun set from the heavens, floating into the moonless night, and then greeting the return of the sun from the sky the following dawn, without ever touching the earth in between.

In May 2010, we launched in the green fields of the United Kingdom, crossed the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, and floated out above the cold waters of the English Channel. We undertook that classic challenge, traveled the skies above that beautiful ribbon of water, and made landfall at the Lighthouse at Dunkirk before journeying into the continent and landing near Les Moëres, France. In March 2011, we flew a house through the skies above southern California. (Yes, a house.) In September 2011, I launched from France, at the base of the mountains and flew, overnight, through the deepest cold, up over the greatest mountain range in Europe: The Alps. I landed in Italy the next day.

My God! Genuine adventure!

Please know that cluster ballooning is a passion for me. As much as we'd like to fly at every event that has graciously invited us, it is prohibitively expensive to host a cluster balloon system. Helium is invisible, yet still precious and beautiful. It is also regrettably expensive. Thank you for thinking of having us in your skies; for events or tv productions that invite us to fly, sponsorship must be secured by the event, and it is expensive. We'd love to fly with you. There are also many commercial events that would be appropriate for a cluster balloon system - films, documentaries, and promotional events, and we thank the producers that have contacted us for these endeavors. Please keep in mind that this is an expensive undertaking involving licensed pilots, meteorologists, and other professionals. None of our flights are undertaken on a whim; all are prepared for, exhaustively. If you host an event and would like to send a gas cluster aloft, feel free to reach out.

Or, if you are just plain curious about cluster ballooning and want to drop us a note, we enjoy hearing from people who love this unique form of flight. If you saw us in the skies, or sent us aloft, send us a note!

Trans-Atlantic Volunteers

Thank you for reaching out about coming to Caribou, Maine for our trans-Atlantic expedition; it will be a flight like no other! People in Aroostook County still remember the great flights of generations past-- the flights that went out in 1978 and 1984; we hope this flight will foster similar memories for a new generation!

The launch date will occur sometime between July 1 and September 30, depending on the arrival of the weather system we need. We will start having an idea or rumor about potential flight date about seven days in advance of inflation start. Then, three days before inflation we will have a quite good idea that we will indeed be launching on 'X' date. 12-hours before the inflation starts we give the inflation team the 'Go To Airfield' message.

The inflation will run overnight, likely starting at sunset and running through sunrise. If you would like to have your hands on this aircraft, and can be on-site for an overnight inflation, please reach out below. If you have worked with manned balloons before, if you are a pilot of any aircraft, or if you have worked with high-pressure gasses, please include that in your note!

Media. When reaching out via the form below, please put the word "MEDIA" as the first word in the message.

During the flight: Media can contact 'Barcroft Media' in the UK; they have a media sat phone onboard the aircraft and can arrange contact.
